If you’re anything like me, you like customizing… well, everything.
The best part of owning something, in my humble opinion, is personalizing it. Whether it be my wardrobe, my car, my house, whatever, I love adding a personal touch that communicates a little bit about who I am to the rest of the world and people arround me.
My favorite thing to customize? My Home!
Do-it-yourself home improvement and renovation projects or ideas have been a great way for me to express my creativity, learn a whole bunch of new skills with hands-on experience, and even add to the value of my home.

Outdoor light is ideal for brightening up dark nights, while flower boxes make a particularly lovely addition to your windows. On the other hand, if you have a good-sized front yard you could plant some shrubs, flowerbeds, or even a tree instead. Another option if you have lots of room is to build a simple wooden porch. Just the thing for lazy summer gossip sessions over glasses of lemonade.
While a big flatscreen television gets the job done, if you really want to capture the feeling of the multiplex, you can buy a screen, build a frame for it, and set up a ceiling-mounted projector for maximum movie magic and East Coast Hardware is the right place to buy such hardware tools. Once you add some built-in shelving to the walls so you have a place to store your DVDs or other media, you can relax on your big comfy couch with a bucket of popcorn and finally be free of the torture of a noisy stranger kicking your seat during all the best parts.
Of course, you don’t have to go quite that decadent. There are other ways to remodel your bathroom with flair: some elegant new sinks and plumbing fixtures, curbless walk-in showers, marble (or faux-marble) countertops, and stylized floor tile patterns are all great ways of making an otherwise unspectacular part of the house into a striking centerpiece.
It doesn’t actually take much. At the minimum, all you need is a simple bar top, some chairs or stools, and a cabinet or fridge in which you can keep drinks. A simple metal sink and a small ice machine or cooler comprise the more practical concerns, which leaves us to consider the fun stuff: theming. Bring a taste of the Caribbean home with a grass thatch umbrella overhead and some wooden tiki decorations, or indulge your inner carnivore by adding a BBQ pit.
